Steps to Finding Yourself, Your Confidence, & Your Purpose - Part 3

Good work so far!  I'm glad you've come back for Part 3.  You're going to be glad you decided to take this journey.

This week you'll use the information you've gathered about yourself over the past 2 weeks to develop your confidence.  I bet you're wondering how your values, barriers, and next steps lead to confidence.

Here's the thing, now that you know who you are and what's important to you, and hopefully broken down the barriers that you identified and have taken the steps to make the improvements you wanted to see in your life, you can live authentically and congruent with who you are.  You are no longer living behind a mask of uncertainty or insecurity!

Take a moment to think about that!!  You've done a lot of work to get here!  Give yourself a pat on the back!

So much of confidence simply comes from knowing yourself and your values.

Confidence is defined as "the feeling or belief that one can rely on someone or something; the state of feeling certain about the truth of something; a feeling of self-assurance arising from one's appreciation of one's own abilities or qualities."

Do you see where I'm going with this?  Because you've defined who you are and what's important to you, you can rely on yourself.  You can feel certain about the truth of something...of yourself and who you are.  You can have a feeling of self-assurance that comes from the knowledge, understanding, and appreciation of your own abilities and qualities.    Just reading that, don't you feel a little more confident already?  Yeah, that comes from the work of self-discovery you've been doing.

Now all you have to do is live a life that matches your values.  And now that you've established your values, doing that should be fairly easy.  Our biggest hurdles with self-confidence usually come from the fact that we don't know ourselves and have never identified our core values.  I've always said that awareness is usually the biggest factor in making changes.  Awareness is the first step.  You can't do anything differently if you aren't aware of what you want it to be or what the problem is.

So stand proud in who you are and what your values are!  Be confident in these things.  They are who you are.  You have found yourself!!!  How does it feel?

If you still feel like you need some more help or guidance in this journey toward self-discovery and self-confidence, I'm more than happy to work with you directly.  Please feel free to contact me directly.

Here's the thing, if you feel comfortable in who you are and you're able to live authentically, congruent with your beliefs and values, then confidence unconsciously exudes from you.  You'll feel comfortable in your own skin, not like an outsider or an Imposter.  You'll find that you interact differently with people.  You'll find that you make decisions differently.  You'll find that you offer opinions more often.  You'll find yourself taking healthy risks that you may not have ever been willing to take before, when you were living in fear, unsure of who you were or how to "be" in the world.  This is what is feels like to have self-confidence.  Not second guessing yourself.  Not hiding in the shadows.  Welcome to the new you!

Next week will be the final week in this series.  We'll talk about how to find your purpose.  We'll look at what it might be like to pursue that purpose.  I look forward to having you here next week!
